Coshocton County Fatherhood Initiative
CCFI is a subcommittee of the Family & Children First Council, a county-wide consortium group which identifies and addresses the needs of families (including fathers) in Coshocton. CCFI's mission is to strengthen the family unit through engaging and empowering fathers and father figures to be meaningfully involved in and committed to the child's well being. Since inception in December of 2004 by a handful of social service workers, CCFI has impacted several hundred fathers through workshops, breakfasts, events, and other activities using national best practice curriculum and locally-developed programs containing "What Works" strategies. These programs and services are offered to all fathers and father figures including the unwed, married, divorced, separated, grandparent, teen or expectant fathers of Coshocton County, a Rural Appalachian community (total population 35,981/Est 2008).
CCFI believes that Fathers are an essential piece in their child's life.
